Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Fountium Inc. (“Fountium”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit fountium.com or contact us. We are a Canada-based responsible AI technology and advisory company, and we handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other laws that apply to us.
What this policy covers
This policy covers our website (fountium.com, including the Fountium AI Trust page) and enquiries you send us by email. The Fountium AI Trust platform is not yet generally available. When it is, it will have its own terms and privacy notice, and design partners will receive specific terms before using it.
Information we collect
Information you send us
When you email us, for example to ask about our services or to apply to the Fountium AI Trust design partner programme, we receive the information you choose to include. This typically means your name, email address, company, role, company size, and the content of your message.
Please do not send us sensitive personal information or confidential documents by email. If you share a sample AI questionnaire with us, please remove customer names and other confidential details first.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the date and time. We use it to operate and secure the website.
- Login protection. A security plugin records the IP address of attempts to sign in to the website’s administration area so that brute-force attacks can be blocked. This affects only people who try to sign in.
Cookies
We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. WordPress sets cookies only for administrators who sign in to manage the website. If you leave a comment on any part of the site where comments are enabled, WordPress may offer to store your name and email in a cookie for your convenience; this is optional.
Third-party services
- No third-party content on our pages. Our fonts and other page resources are served from our own website, so visiting our pages does not send your information to third-party services such as Google Fonts.
- Social media links. Our website links to our LinkedIn and YouTube pages. We do not embed their tracking on our site, but if you follow those links, those services’ own privacy policies apply.
How we use personal information
We use personal information only for the purposes for which it was provided or that are reasonably expected:
- To respond to your enquiries and provide information you request
- To assess whether the Fountium AI Trust design partner programme is a good fit and, if you take part, to run the programme
- To provide our advisory services under an agreement with you or your organization
- To operate, maintain and secure our website
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations
We do not sell personal information. We will not send you marketing emails unless you have agreed to receive them, in line with Canada’s anti-spam legislation, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Consent
By contacting us, you consent to our use of your information for the purposes described above. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. If you withdraw consent, we may be unable to respond to your enquiry or provide certain services.
How we share personal information
We share personal information only when necessary:
- Service providers who host our website and email and help us operate our business. They may use the information only to provide services to us and must protect it.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information where required or permitted by law, for example in response to a lawful request from authorities.
- Business transfers. If Fountium Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
Where your information is stored
Our service providers may store or process personal information outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, the information is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as needed to respond and to maintain our business relationship, and generally no longer than two years after our last contact unless we have an ongoing relationship with you or the law requires us to keep them longer. Server and security logs are kept according to our hosting provider’s schedules.
How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. These include encrypted connections to our website (HTTPS), restricted administrative access and login protection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information you share with us.
Your rights
You may ask us to give you access to the personal information we hold about you, correct information that is inaccurate, or delete information we no longer need. We will respond within 30 days. To make a request, contact us using the details below; we may need to verify your identity first.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and professionals. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above.
